The expansion of StackSafe™Test Center with additional software infrastructure tests and reports for Microsoft Windows has been announced today by a provider of pre-production staging and testing solutions for IT Operations teams, StackSafe, Inc. This enhancement will allow IT Operations teams to better conduct tests on Windows systems and more thoroughly assess the impact of IT changes on their production environment.
Senior product manager for StackSafe, Dennis Powell, declared: "Our Operating Systems for Multi-Tier Applications research report showed that Windows environments are an important component of the data center and continue to support more mission critical applications." He added: "With this expansion of test and reporting functionality, IT Operations teams can now more easily and effectively perform broad pre-production testing for Windows production environments."
Whenever an imported guest host is started, Test Center automatically generates baseline analysis reports. Including configuration data, process and network connection status, system resource state, package inventory and disk space usage, the reports present IT Operations groups with detailed information about the guest host. IT Operations, using this information along with differences reports, can easily determine how guest hosts are impacted during the change process.
Test Center reports provide data for Windows users to support the business activities of IT Operations. IT Operations, with easier software infrastructure testing, gains greater insight into the impact of IT decisions, lower threat of downtime due to unknown impacts, reduced production problems after changes and shorter change and release management cycles.
