SingleClick Systems, announced the availability of HomeNet Manager 4.0, the latest version of its flagship software solution. Installed on over 20 million computers worldwide, HomeNet Manager now includes an easier to use start-up wizard and interface, bandwidth testing and remote access functionality. As more network-enabled devices are added to a network, it can become extremely difficult to manage and keep track of them. HomeNet Manager 4.0 eliminates this problem by automatically locating devices, displaying them in a categorized list, and providing drag and drop capabilities to move files and resources between various computers or networked devices.

"Frustrated with the complexity of configuring and maintaining a secure and functional network,
many consumers and small businesses have no choice but to rely on hiring expensive professionals, such as the Geek Squad, to make sure their networks are set-up and secured properly. HomeNet Manager 4.0 puts the power back in the hands of the user, providing an end-to-end solution to help even non-tech savvy consumers and SMBs configure, manage and secure a robust network with the same advanced functionalities leveraged by major enterprise users," stated Scot Zarkiewicz, CEO of SingleClick Systems.

The SingleClick solution also bundles in a Web based Digital Media Server enabling the streaming of content such as video or music files
, general file access and the sharing of content with other people through a simple e-mail based messaging service available as a stand-alone product or integrated into SingleClick's Home Networking platform, the remote access feature of HomeNet Manager 4.0 will also be very useful to a wide range of OEM's looking to provide remote support of the products and services that they sell.

As a key new feature in HomeNet Manager 4.0, remote access provides users with the ability to easily configure a Virtual Private Network
to access all shared content and resources on the network from any computer or Web enabled mobile device such as a Blackberry or Windows Mobile PDA. This technology enables users to remotely control all the computers in their network and access devices such as web cameras, network attached storage devices, and network printers remotely.

The application also provides point and click access to the configuration interfaces found on all networking devices,
eliminating the need for the user to understand the complex and dynamic addressing that takes place in modern communication networks. The ability to configure a network so that various users can share resources, such as folders or printers, has traditionally been a complicated process requiring an experienced network technician. However, the point-and-click set-up wizard provided by HomeNet Manager 4.0 makes the process as easy as a few clicks of the mouse.

HomeNet Manager 4.0 highlights:

    - Start Up Wizard for simple, point and click set-up and configuration of networks for individuals and SMBs
    - Security: Intruder Protection feature prevents unauthorized systems from connecting to yours and blocks any new client that attempts to join the network
    - Remote Access: enables users to access their personal and company devices and digital content anytime, anywhere
    - Resource Sharing: simple sharing mechanism enables folders or printers to be shared and accessed between PCs
    - Bandwidth Testing: measures upstream and downstream bandwidth of the Internet connection and qualifies the types of services that the user's Internet connection can support
