Companies with a large printer landscape must expend enormous effort setting up and managing their print servers manually. The .print Management Center, the newest member of the .print product family, now provides for simplified setup and management of these complex environments. The new ThinPrint solution makes manual setup unnecessary and automates the administration of print servers. Even extensive changes in the printing infrastructure can be made in no time with just a few mouse clicks, thanks to the database-supported graphical display of the new software solution.
The new solution is a supplement to ThinPrint .print - the print management solution used around the world to optimize print processes in companies of every size and in every industry. The .print Management Center, with one mouse click, provides the administrator with an overview of all printers installed at headquarters and in the branch offices. The necessary printer objects and ports are automatically created on the central print servers; a task that had to be performed manually until now.
The administrator can then use the .print Management Center to centrally configure bandwidth availability for the print data, the number of ports it is distributed over, and whether the data should be SSL-encrypted. This aspect of the solution makes it particularly convenient to configure the Printer Virtualization Layer, which enables driver free printing from Windows Terminal Server - or virtual or real desktops - to ThinPrint Gateways, thin clients, or network printers.
